On July 1, 2007 California started enforcing the “Appliance Efficiency Regulation” ** which requires all single-voltage external AC to DC or AC to AC power supplies to meet specific energy efficiency requirements.

Any power supply manufactured on or after July 1, 2007
must meet the requirements set forth in Table U-1:

The operational expectations of power supplies increase on July 1, 2008
as set forth in Table U-2:
