In this presentation, we will be reviewing NFPA 72 and how it applies to Test & Inspection. We will be focusing on the necessary equipment needed for test and inspection, including how to properly use out in the field. Coding requirements will also be discussed at various points in the presentation as they pertain to the equipment at hand.

Tyler Phillips joined SDi in 2022 as the Southern Business Development Manager covering Texas, Arkansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma and Mississippi. He started out in the Fire Protection industry in 2016, pre-wiring and trimming out Fire Alarm systems for Texas A&M campuses. After obtaining his Fire Alarm Technician license, Tyler was presented a new career opportunity where he spent the next five years performing, supervising, and managing Fire Protection inspections and service for the high rise and condominium community in and around the greater Houston area. Here, he was able to perfect his craft while earning multiple Texas State Fire Marshall licenses along with earning NICET certifications in Fire Alarm systems (Level III), Inspection and Testing of Water Based systems (Level II), and Water Based Systems Layout (Level I). Prior to Tyler’s career in the Fire Protection industry, he spent six years serving in the U.S. Navy from the ages of 18-24 as an electronics technician servicing navigation and radar systems for the destroyer class Wayne E Meyer DDG-108.
