In our industry, the only constant is change. The codes and standards that regulate nearly everything we do in the fire and life-safety industry are certainly no exception. In this presentation we’ll take a look at where we are in the process with some of the most relevant codes and standards, identify and discuss some recent changes that will impact our industry, and share what to be on the lookout for in the future.

Following retirement from a 25-year fire service career which included over 12 years as AHJ in a high-growth metropolitan fire department, he spent five years as a fire safety advocate, trainer and program developer/manager for the National Fire Sprinkler Association and the Automatic Fire Alarm Association before coming to Potter. He is an accomplished author and instructor, providing continuing education for firefighters, fire and building code officials, fire protection contractors, facility managers, and design professionals for over two decades. He is an active member of the ICC, NFPA, NFSA, AFSA, AFAA, FSSA and SFPE and sits on numerous codes and standards development committees.
