D-TECT Addressable Sensors

Potter's all new D-TECT Sensors have been designed from the ground up with unmatched performance, ease of installation, and unique testing and maintenance features. Featuring Dynamic Threat Emergency Communication Technology, D-TECT sensors achieve adaptive response and reduce false alarms. A photo chamber (patent pending) accurately detects fire while rejecting nuisance. These new sensors utilize the Potter PAD protocol and are backwards compatible with all PAD100 and PAD200 devices. Potter ensures that there is no learning curve when designing with and installing this new family of detectors and bases.

Unmatched Performance

Dynamic Sampling

Dynamic Sampling & Local Processing

D-TECT's unique detection systems are resistant to dirt, insects, and back pressure ensuring accurate detection, even in the presence of environmental interference. By continuously monitoring the surrounding environment, they acclimate over time to prevent false alarms.

UL Certified

UL 268 7th Edition

D-TECT Sensors are UL 268 7th Edition compliant to be more sensitive to fire while remaining immune to deceptive environmental phenomena. A unique photo chamber (patent pending) design utilizes two light sources to discriminate between fire smokes and cooking nuisance.

Low Standby Current

Low Standby Current

D-TECT Sensors consume very little power when the device operates during standby normal status. The devices communicate on the Potter addressable protocol employing a proprietary polling technique. In normal condition, the LED flashes when the device is being polled by the control panel. When the input is activated, the LED will flash at a rapid rate.

Unmatched Coverage

Unmatched Coverage

D-TECT's heat sensors span up to an industry leading 70ft from 135° to 185°F allowing fewer detectors to cover the same space and lowering installation costs.

Ease of Installation

Backwards Compatible

Backwards Compatible

D-TECT Sensors are fully backwards compatible with previous PAD generations and can be seamlessly combined with any combination of PAD100 and PAD200 devices on the same loop. Potter ensures that there is no learning curve when designing with and installing this new family of detectors and bases.

Extensive Box Compatibility

Extensive Box Compatibility

D-TECT Sensors are compatible with a wide range of junction box styles and sizes. This allows easy adaptation for any project and supports common types in the USA, Canada, Asia, and Middle East. Large openings in D-TECT bases allow ample wiring room inside the boxes. The sounder bases can be mounted directly on top of the junction box and do not protrude into it.

Low Profile

Low Profile

D-TECT Sensors feature a sleek, low-profile design which integrates seamlessly into any interior design. With under 2” protrusion (including the base), you can be sure your projects remain attractive while staying protected.

Testing & Maintenance

Walk Test Mode

Walk Test Mode

D-TECT Sensors can be placed in Walk Test Mode for fast and easy validation of sensor performance. Featuring an integrated magnetic test switch, you can easily test without the need for a ladder.

Electronic Date Codes

Electronic Date Codes

All D-TECT Sensors have embedded electronic date codes which can be viewed in panel status reports. This allows the operator to view and assess the lifespan of addressable devices without visiting each detector individually.
